The Wardens have put together a rules code. A lot of it is guidelines and common sense rather than rules. Everyone should read it over, though.
1) The Wardens' authority, though it'll be rarely used, is final. Deal with it.
2) RPG names only. That means names like Darthlolxxor are out. Names from other worlds are also out - no Gandalfff. Keep the names appropriate for the setting as it's been established. Note that some names which might not seem good can be. "Beerbreath" might well be a nickname for a dwarf that everyone calls him by. Good stories can make up for a lot.
3) No power gaming. You are not a dragon, a god, or Spongebob Squarepants. You didn't beat up Sargeras with a spork. Illidan is not your love child, nor are you his.
4) Keep with the established lore. If you stray from it, have a good reason. If you're in doubt, ask Ularitharion, and he'll be happy to fill in the gaps. If an unwitting contradiction does occur, he'll try to help make everything fit.
5) No Warlocks, death knights, or other evil doers. The story of Warcraft is all about how demons are the enemy of all creation and trying to destroy all reality, especially our corner of it. We don't make friends with them. We kill them.
6) Remember that IC and OOC are different things. That means keeping the ic stuff ic and the ooc stuff ooc. That means remembering that if someone insults you or argues with you in character, they don't mean it out of character.
7) Careful with the adult content. We're trying to be a comfortable group for everyone. If it's not in the game already, don't do it. This means violence and innuendo are fine, but pulsating intestines and... other things, not so much. If you have to do that sort of thing, go to whispers.
8) Mind the angst. Keep a positive attitude. No one liked Anakin Skywalker. Yes, conflict and suffering happens, and people get depressed as a result, but don't wallow in it.
9) Think about our public image. Present a good impression. You're a representative of the guild, and should act appropriately! Basically this just means that people should follow standard WoW etiquette. Don't steal kills, don't randomly proposition people for e-sex, don't ninja loot... you know the stuff!
10) Help guildmates in need if you can. They'll probably wind up helping you back. What goes around, comes around. This doesn't mean you have to drop everything to instance run, or give valuable items for free, or craft things without the mats. But do be nice to people
11) Act mature and sensible. No harassment, insulting, swearing... once again, you all know this one. It's very common sense stuff.
12) Try to be active in the guild if possible. Yes, people are busy. I understand entirely. And if there's an activity you don't want to take part in, that's okay. But try to be active. Try to come to guild meetings, try to contribute ideas and stuff. If a character is not played for two months, and they're not an alt, and there's no message saying they've gone, they will be kicked from the guild. On the flip side, if you're playing an alt outside the guild, feel free to join the ooc channel to say hello.
