Talnia is the younger child, and only daughter, of Harad and Taretha Aronshire. The Aronshires were a minor noble family based near the northern frontiers of Lordaeron. As a scholar and student of enchanting, Harad spent most of his days researching obscure and harmless magics, to the delight of his young children. Taretha generally tended to the family's finances, which included a number of charitable endeavors. (Most of the family's wealth came from her side of the family.) For example, she oversaw the family's donation of a significant sum for the rebuilding of Stormwind, which garnered the good will of the priests of Northshire Abbey.
Talnia grew up happily, and largely ignorant of the world outside their home. This all changed when she was 12 years old. The plague unleashed upon Lordaeron took some of its first victims in the lands of the Aronshires. Ignoring the advice of friends, Talnia's family took in some of the afflicted. Late one night, they were to see what a mistake that had been. The first victims arose as undead, slaughtering most of the household, including Talnia's older brother, Gereden. Talnia was hidden away under the cellar stairs by her father, along with a maid. "Just until the guards get a handle on things, " her father smiled. She never saw him again. Three days later, when the zombies had moved on in search of fresh blood, the maid took Talnia, and fled to Lordaeron.
Once in Lordaeron, following instructions hastily written by Taretha, the sole surviving child of Aronshire was sent to live at Northshire Abbey. There she was cared for, and taught the way of the Light. Having been witness to so much destruction during her flight, Talnia endeavored to learn to heal those afflicted. At the age of 17, she began receiving the first installments of her inheritance, which had been left in trust by her parents years before.
Despite her tragic family past, Talnia is still a young woman in search of fun and companionship. She enjoys a good drink, and rowdy good time. She is quick to make friends, and generous with her coin. She tends not to talk about her family and past, unless deep into her cups. She generally disdains "ladylike" clothing, preferring pants and vests over the more ostentatious robes of some clergy. Fiercely self-reliant, she has a tendency to bite off more than she can chew, particularly when it comes to a fight. This occasionally leads to some spectacular victories, and even more spectacular retreats.
Talnia's weaknesses include mild claustrophobia and a virulent loathing of the undead. (She is particularly terrified of being in enclosed spaces with the undead or deceased.) In addition, her need for friendship can cause her to be a little too trusting and giving, which could allow those less scrupulous to take advantage. While not foolish or naïve in most senses, she does give her loyalty easily.
