So, what's everyone curling up with to read? Either currently, or just a favourite in general!
I'm currently reading the Jeeves books by P.G. Wodehouse. Absolutely hilarious, about Bertie Wooster, an affable but clueless young gentleman and his superhumanly clever servant Jeeves. I've just finished reading the first two books of Fables, which is a graphic novel series in which a terrible Adversary has driven all the fairy tale characters from their homelands, and they've taken shelter in upstate New York. The first book has the Big Bad Wolf and Snow White investigating the murder of Rose Red; the second has a planned coup by the nonhuman Fables to take over from the human ones.
More recommendations may follow later...

Hiya everyone!
I LOVE FABLES! ;D It's one of my favorite series! I would recommend (if you have not read it) The Last Castle - it's the story of the final battle with the Adversary and how the Fables ended up in New York. It also features Blue, who is my favorite character in the series.
I don't know if anyone here has read the Kusiel's Dart Trilogy by Jacqueline Carey, but if not, DO!!! She has an amazing talent for fully immersing readers in the world that she has created (a sort of fantasy'd-up version of middle ages Europe) and her characters will... well, I don't want to spoil anything. Just pick it up - I promise that you won't regret it!
Ciao' for now!
*hugs*

This is off-topic, even for novel recommendations; But if you want to read something simple and rp-enriching I *highly* recommend the Well of Eternity trilogy of the WoW novels. They're simple to read (I've been going through 100 pages a day) and they'll give you a little insight into the history of our pointed-ear companions.

Does anyone have a few good non-King horror titles that I should look up?

I trust you've read Lovecraft? Neil Gaiman's not a horror author either, but he can get pretty scary at times. Can't really help though, I don't read much horror - just King, really.

Hrmm..lemme see. I just finished my 4th read through of "Transmetropolitan", the main protagonist is a journalist named Spider Jerusalem. Most of the story takes place in "The City" a futuristic metropolis. The timeframe is set sometime in the future with no real year ever given because "No one knows what year it is anymore." Throughout the series it pokes fun at a lot of the stuff the world has dealt with over the years, politics, religion, identity. Awesome series.
Next, Finished reading "Preacher" for the..6th time I think. Its a story about Jesse Custer, who gets possessed by a being known as Genesis, the offspring of a Demon and an Angel. He sets off on a journey to track down God himself to make him answer for all the suffering and bad things that have happened in the world. He teams up with an Irish Vampire and his trigger-happy ex-girlfriend.
The Walking Dead, typical Zombie Apocalypse scenario. A group of survivors dealing with the threat of Zombies. I know the Zombie thing had been done to death, but this series brings it back to life. It connects in ways that a movie never could. You learn enough about each of the survivors throughout the series that if one happens to die, you actually kind of feel bad.
Battle Pope, This is one of my favorite reads. The Rapture has come and God has given Earth to the demons, but to help give Humans a chance he has sent them a savior. An alcoholic, womanizing, do as he pleases, Pope. Followed by Jesus at his side, in his trademark "What would I do?" shirt, Jesus and Pope help rid the world of evil.
Clive Barker's Books of Blood (I,II,III). One of my favorite collections of stories. Long enough to draw you in, short enough not to leave you with many questions to ask.
The Darkness - on his 21st Birthday, Jackie Estacado; hitman for the Franchetti Crime Family, is given his birthrite. The power of manipulate the darkness around him and from it, summon anything he wishes. This is another one of my "must read" series'. The witty banter that Jackie gets from the Darklings are worth it alone.
Y:The Last Man - Ever wondered what it would be like to be the last man on earth? Well for Yorick Brown, that time is now. Every mammal with the Y chromosome has mysteriously died with the exception of Yorick and his pet monkey, Ampersand. With his Girlfriend on the otherside of the world, Yorick sets out on a journey to find her. However complications arise when Yorick discovers that maybe being the last man alive isn't the greatest thing. Chased by extreme feminists calling themselves "The Amazons" who want him dead, meeting up with the secretive Agent 355 who wants to save him, and having to blend in to an all female world..Yorick has a lot of work ahead of him.
There are a few more I am currently reading..but I think I've spoken enough already..hehe
